Good Things Come to Those Who Wait--Things Like Vintage, Turquoise Melamine

Remember this list?
I checked an item off it yesterday when my friend and I visited a new thrift store and found a bag of turquoise melamine for $6.
I squealed when Erin handed it to me.  (a true friend--she didn't keep it for herself or even make me pay her a finders fee)
Can you blame me?  Just look at it.

The best part of it was that 15 minutes before I was thinking how I'd really like to get Lilly a melamine tea set for her birthday.  She wants a princess tea party or a fairy tea party.  (I know a 2.5 year old that is already planning her birthday party.  What can I say--she's my girl.  We like parties around here)
A melamine tea set seemed like the perfect way to go for a 3 year old tea party.
I thought I'd have to step op my search and maybe even hit ebay.

But I didn't have to.
This little set practically fell into my lap.
There is no tea pot, but I don't know if they ever came with tea pots.
And don't you just love the shape of that sugar bowl?
It's plastic perfection.
..........................................................................................................
Part of the fun of having the list is the thrill of the hunt and the joy of the discovery.
None of the things on my list are needs.
They are all wants and therefore I do not need to pay the big bucks to get them right away.
Delayed gratification is not my strength (ask my husband) but I am working on it.
And this is a really good way to get better at it.

It's Saturday morning.  Maybe you're out on the hunt at garage sales?
Hope you find something good!
Love from,
Greta

PS.  Aaron's demoing our counter tops and sink today.
New counter tops go in on Monday.  Sink, disposal and dishwasher to be installed Tuesday morning.
I'll do the "big reveal" on Wednesday.
If you missed it, you can see where our kitchen started here.
And thanks to all my new followers here and on Facebook.  You made my week!
